Use Drummer Loops in GarageBand for Mac

  • GarageBand iOS and GarageBand OSX share the same file extension '.band' for their Project files. However they are only upwards compatible (by default). You can open a GarageBand iOS project file in GarageBand OSX (or Logic) You cannot open a GarageBand OSX project file in GarageBand iOS.

As part of the upcoming transition to 64-bit technology in macOS, GarageBand 6.0.5 won’t be compatible with future versions of macOS, starting with the recently announced macOS Catalina 10.15. With GarageBand 10 for macOS, you can open and continue to work on the projects that you created in GarageBand 6.0.5.

Remove an older version of GarageBand
